Glycerined vulture feathers, quills, rhea, fly tying, crafts
The boxes that these feathers came out of had this written on them: "Glycerined Vulture Feathers," and it was in the most beautiful cursive writing.
The length of the barbs vary from feather to feather, but some as as long as 3-4". The feather shafts themselves range from about 5 inches in length to 8+"; the orange being longer than the plum gray, running closer to 8" while plum gray is closer to 5-6". The condition ranges from very good to excellent.
These feathers are tied together into bundles of 4 individual feathers that have been tied together since around the 1930-40's. As you place your order, remember that each quantity of one equals one bundle of 4 feathers.
These feathers have been a favorite of many flytiers, milliners, and crafters. Ruler shows size.
