On Saturday, September 17th, I will be giving a presentation about Vintage Feathers at Intersection Austerlitz, “Costume and Culture: Designs for Life,” a local event organized by the Edna St. Vincent Millay Society at Steepletop, the Spencertown Academy Arts Center, and the Austerlitz Historical Society.
The organizers have put together a diverse line up of events and exhibits for a fun filled day of hands-on educational/cultural activities related to costume and connected to our Austerlitz locale. More information about the event can be found here. For my part, I will display a variety of feather trim samples in an array of colors; a unique collection of vintage millinery flower trims in assorted fabrics and styles, wax flowers, wax orange blossoms, and wax bridal tiaras; and a couple of the original warehouse inventory ledger books. A selection of feather trims will also be available for purchase.
